I have tried to make sense of the survey in its summary form here. I must confess that I am not sure what to make of the data. If “over fifty percent” of faculty seem to desire both college-level and universty level governance structures, this is hardly a ringing endorsement, or even a call to action. In fact it might be interpreted as a vote against rather than for.
I’d like to see more soundbites (what did respondents write when given a chance). Narrative matters here. I’d also like to see the results broken down more transparently between faculty at CGPS and at Mary Washington.
